These terms govern your use of OmaCal, a free, open-source desktop calendar application developed by Extreme Labs ("we", "us"). By installing or using OmaCal you agree to these terms; if you do not agree, do not use the application.
1. What OmaCal is
OmaCal is a desktop client for Google Calendar, iCloud and CalDAV servers, built for Linux and macOS. It runs entirely on your device, communicates directly with your calendar provider on your behalf, and stores its data locally. How it handles your data is described in the OmaCal Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
2. License and open source
OmaCal's source code is published on GitHub under the open-source license stated in the repository. That license governs your rights to copy, modify and redistribute the source code, and nothing in these terms restricts the rights it grants you. These terms apply to your use of the application itself, including the official builds we distribute.
3. Your accounts
OmaCal requires an account with a calendar provider: Google, iCloud, or a CalDAV server. Your use of that provider through OmaCal remains subject to its own terms and privacy policy, including Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy where you connect a Google account. You are responsible for your accounts and for the events you create, edit, delete or respond to through OmaCal; the application performs exactly the actions you ask it to, against your real calendar. OmaCal is an independent project and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Google, Apple, or the Omarchy project.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use OmaCal only in compliance with applicable law and your providers' policies. In particular, you will not use OmaCal to send unwanted invitations or spam, attempt to circumvent a provider's rate limits or abuse the shared API quota that all OmaCal users depend on, or misrepresent OmaCal as your own service when interacting with others.
5. Updates, availability and changes
OmaCal is provided free of charge. We may release updates, change features, or discontinue the application or its shared OAuth client at any time. Syncing requires a working network connection and the availability of your providers' services, neither of which is under our control. Because the application is open source, you can always build and run it with your own Google Cloud credentials independently of us.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
OMACAL IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT OMACAL WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT IT WILL PRESERVE OR MAINTAIN YOUR CALENDAR DATA WITHOUT LOSS.
7. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EXTREME LABS AND ITS CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OMACAL, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED, IT IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR OMACAL, WHICH IS ZERO.
8. Termination
You can stop using OmaCal at any time by uninstalling it and, if you wish, revoking its access from your Google account settings or your Apple ID page. We may suspend or terminate the shared OAuth client's operation if it is abused or if Google requires it; your rights under the open-source license survive any such termination.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Bulgaria, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these terms limits any mandatory consumer rights you hold under the law of your country of residence.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, the new version will be published at this address with an updated effective date. Continued use of OmaCal after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
